Brooke is a doctoral graduate intern trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy, Early Intervention, cognitive, academic, and personality assessments, and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition.
Brooke holds a Masters degree in clinical psychology from Murray State University and is completing her Ph.D. in school psychology from Indiana University. Before starting at Egyptian Health Department and WOVSED, Brooke worked for one year as a graduate student within Murray State University’s Student Disabilities Services and three years as a Registered Behavior Technician at LittleStar ABA.
After a successful career providing therapeutic and assessment services to adolescent, young adult, and adult populations with anxiety, depression, cognitive, academic, and behavioral concerns and providing ABA Therapy to children and adolescents diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, Brooke now aims to provide psychological therapeutic and evaluative services to children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, cognitive, academic, and behavioral concerns.
Dr. Matt Buckman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice. He also serves in various part-time leadership and consultative roles. Dr. Buckman is the Co-PI and Clinical Director for several programs and projects including the Trauma-Based Behavioral Health Fellowship and Trauma Responsive Schools initiative at the Center for Rural Health & Social Services Development within SIU’s School of Medicine, the Southern Illinois Violence Prevention Project at the Illinois Association of Juvenile Justice Councils, and the Stress & Trauma Treatment Center. Dr. Buckman also serves as a consultant for the Trauma Informed System of Care Project led by Centerstone, Project Connect System of Care led by Egyptian Health Department and is the co-chair of Resilient Southern Illinois within 17 school districts, the Consortium for Resilient Young Children within the Southern Illinois Coalition for Children and Families, the Early Childhood Mental Health Initiative, and the Rural Behavioral Health Learning Community for the TA Network for SAMHSA.
Throughout his roles, Dr. Buckman provides supervision, consultation, and training as well as direct services to children, teens, young adults, and families to help improve a variety of emotional and behavioral health issues. He has worked in various schools, medical, and clinical settings with a specialization in childhood trauma and certifications in Early Intervention, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. He has extensive experience working with victims of abuse and their families as they recover and heal from significant adversities and considers his work in this area to be his calling in life.
